The worst idea I've ever had
/Or is it?
With all the exciting kanban-ing I’ve been doing around here, it was probably inevitable that I would birth this monstrosity. I posted this idea on Facebook and was immediately defenestrated by every single commenter, so close this tab right now if your tolerance for Lovecraftian horror is low.
Still here? Very well, here we go.
Let us assume that you’re a reader. Let us further assume that you have an extensive collection of books, and that you might be one of those readers who have a couple of unread books lying around. In a stack, let’s say.
Okay, fine: stacks. In multiple rooms.
It’s probably fair to say that these growing stacks contain books that you started reading but have yet to finish. Or sequels to books that you read a while back and so would have to reread in order to understand what’s going on in the new one. Or books by your favorite children’s author, or by your friends. And more than a few books that looked interesting when you picked them up but which failed to keep your attention.
These stacks are more than likely a source of anxiety for you. Every time you add a new book to a stack, you utter a silent apology to the book for abandoning it to the swirling black hole that is your UNREAD BOOK HEAP.
The solution, of course, is simple:
KANBAN YOUR UNREAD BOOKS.
Wait, where are you going? Why are you sobbing like that?
