Fun Friday Resources
/This week we have a smörgåsbord of fun things, starting with TemplateMaker, a phenomenal site of adjustable templates for all kinds of packaging. The only issue with it is that you really need a large-format printer to make most of the templates useful, but if you’re handy with a straightedge you could reconstruct a template onto art paper or posterboard yourself.
Need a simple online whiteboard for flowchart-y or organizational stuff? Head over to OurBoard, where it’s free and easy. (Read over the tutorial for a great overview.) OurBoard is not especially powerful; it cannot import graphics, for example. (I use Zengobi’s Curio Pro for my whiteboarding needs — it’s much more powerful and flexible.)
I found out about TAPEFEAR over at BoingBoing: Chris Johnson "created a script to find new music on niche music sites, cross reference Spotify to see if it was available to stream," and the website is a lovely way to discover music that you would not otherwise have come across.
If you ever have the need to send a note/message that doesn’t need to hang around after the recipient reads it — you know, when you’re engaged in your Mission: Impossible daily to-do list — use BurnerNote.
AllBlackScreen.com is a tremendously narrow idea that kind of struggles to justify itself, but it does what it says and does it well.
Stay warm out there!
