Fun Friday Resources

We have a random grab bag this week.

First, free video footage at coverr.co. Some really nice stuff there, and there is a link to free music as well, but be advised: the site appears to be a loss leader for Shutterstock, i.e., lots of free stuff but links to commercial footage do present themselves.

I keep thinking a wiki might be a solution to the lack of centralized information/institutional memory that bedevils the burn organization I work with. Here’s a free one, if you have a server to run it on.

Are you irritated not to be able to read an article that’s behind a paywall? Needless to say, if you’re going to be reading a lot of New York Times or Esquire articles, then pony up for a subscription, but if there’s a one-off piece that seems important enough, use 12ft (as in “12-ft ladder” to get over the wall).

And finally, something fun: the periodic table in haiku.

Have a good weekend—stay warm and dry!
