The GALAXY Project (part 18)

This past Saturday was the Alchemy Art Fundraiser, and as usual it was a blast, despite the heat/humidity. (It was outdoor event, to minimize exposure.) There were fewer entries this year, but the entries that were there were much more ambitious, I thought. I suspect that both variables were due to our isolation during the pandemic.

We all piled in with our triboards, our canopies and coolers, and it actually looked more like a crafts fair this year than a junior high science fair.

Above, on the left you can see our display. Here’s a full shot of it:

We shared our canopy with Christine and her Burner Barbie project (wherein she will “tag & release” Barbies from her actual miniature theme camp to roam in the wild: hippies will take them, take photos of them, and share them with the hashtag #BurnerBarbie).

Here’s the team, GALAXY chief engineer Old Man Turff and me. (I’m on the right.)

Yes, I had t-shirts made.

It was a fun day, and it’s not over! We’ve now moved into the online fundraiser for all those who weren’t able to be there in person ::cough cough:: Go look at all the projects, and donate! Pro tip: to give more than $1, just up the amount. I know, it will be a pain to give me $500, but I believe in you.
