Fun Friday Resources

There was a fun thing on Twitter today to the effect that instead of using astrology, all you need is the tagline from the #1 movie the day you were born. The tweet directed you to playback.fm, where not only do they tell you the #1 movie, they shows you the trailor. You should go try it. (The site offers a bunch of ‘the day you were born’ searches.)

I’m so old that movies didn’t really have taglines, but I was informed no fewer than three times that River of No Return was filmed in CinemaScope. And in Technicolor. Oy. I had never heard of the movie, and from the trailer I can see why it has not entered the top 500 lists of anyone anywhere. (Although Wikipedia’s overview of its critical reception is kinder than that.)

Now for something more serious: VOTE!

You must vote. There is no Cras Melior Est on this one, gang. Go vote.

First of all, check to see if you’re registered, especially if you live in a state where one party or another has tried its best to make it hard for you to do so.

Then, find out what your ballot is going to look like. Especially if you’re going to be asked to vote on referendums, you will want to be prepared.
